HOPE IN HEALING:
THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR NEW BEGINNINGS

For some time, it had become evident that New Beginnings is bursting at the seams.  With major
growth in the education program, an expanded staff, and an ever-growing number of clients, the time
has come for New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services to kick off its capital campaign, entitled,
Hope in Healing.

The primary goal of the capital campaign for New Beginnings is to purchase a new facility for our
Owensboro location.  The staff had long outgrown the current Owensboro office.  A new facility would
allow New Beginnings to significantly increase its services to our community.  In this new facility, we
had hoped to have a private waiting area for clients, a conference room for meetings and trainings, a
record storage room, and a play therapy room.  The former Owensboro office lacked the space for all of
these much-needed elements of a rape crisis center.

Our NEW BEGINNING
In February 2006, all that we had hoped for in a facility came to fruition.  We purchased a 3000+square
foot facility that allowed for enough space to expand staff & offer a private waiting area.  There is also a
large, brightly colored play therapy room and a conference / training room where groups and
educational programs are taking place.  To continue to ensure confidentiality, there is a large record
retention room.  This move also allowed us to increase staff by hiring a part-time educator as well as
the full-time position that we already have.  Our programs are expanding and improving!

Of course, the building requires additional funds to pay the bank note, as well as additional
maintenance.  We continue our Hope in Healing Campaign to do just that.  Along with our fund
raisers, Texas Hold 'Em Tournaments, and the Annual Online Auction, we continue to ask for
community support in the form of donations.

We are also in the process of selling our former location, 800 Triplett Street.  This house that makes
excellent living or working conditions has 1379 square feet and 1 1/2 baths.  The asking price is
