The Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Board (CSAEP Board) was
created by statute in 1984 as a mechanism for combating the horrific occurrence
of child sexual abuse.

The Board oversees the Child Victims Trust Fund (CVTF), a non-profit program
that provides local communities with funding for child sexual abuse prevention
programs and reimbursement for the portion of child sexual abuse medical exam
expenses not covered by Medicaid or private insurance. The CVTF prevention
activities are funded through private donations, while most of the administrative
costs of the Board and CVTF are absorbed by the Kentucky Attorney General's
Office.

The mission of the CSAEP Board is to significantly reduce child sexual abuse and
its consequences by encouraging the provision of education, awareness and
prevention programs throughout the Commonwealth. Goals of the Board are to:

*promote public and professional education on the nature and scope of child
sexual abuse and   related issues, indicators, laws, roles and resources.

*promote awareness that it is adults' responsibility to provide a safe community
for children.

*reduce the incidence and impact of child sexual abuse by promoting, supporting
and/or funding effective programs.

*establish procedures to generate and oversee the effective and efficient use of
CVTF monies.

The Child Victims Trust Fund (CVTF) has provided funding for child sexual abuse
prevention programs since 1985. Since its inception the CVTF has educated
thousands of children and adults including parents, teachers and professionals
interacting with abuse victims, and other community members. CVTF also funds a
statewide collaborative program called "Promise Not to Tell," which broadcasts a
3-part video presentation and provides information binders to teachers on the
nature of child sexual abuse, how to identify indicators, how to handle
disclosures, legal reporting responsibilities and how an investigation proceeds
through the system. And, finally, CVTF has provided reimbursements for child
sexual abuse medical exams across the state.

You can help by making a donation in any of the following ways:

In the tax refund check-off section of your Kentucky income tax form, look for the
box with the CVTF logo and check the box corresponding with the amount you
would like to donate from your tax refund.

Go to your local county clerk's office and request an "I CARE ABOUT KIDS"
license plate.

Make a tax deductible donation by contacting the CVTF Program Administrator,
Office of the Attorney General, 1024 Capital Center Dr., Suite 200, Frankfort, KY
40601, (800) 372-2551, (502) 696-5312, CVTF@
